My collection of Tropical Fish - Salt and Fresh
I used to be a fish fanatic, but I've hit an equilibrium. At one time I have 4 tanks. One brackish, one salt and 2 fresh water. Now I'm down to one salt and one fresh.
* Update 1/20/2007 - a few years and baby later I'm down to a 50 gallon fresh water tank with a huge Plecostamous. He is almost 10 years on and is 2 ft long. Everyone always asks.. what is that big brown thing? Is it dead? No he is quite a live. I've never had a fish live so long.
In my 20 gallon saltwater tank I have one Humma Humma Trigger. He likes it that way. He seems to beat up any other fish I put in there. It is also a small tank for salt, so the less fish the easier it is to maintain. He has a great personality and is fun to watch.
I also have a 50 gallon freshwater tank. I have the following fish in there: betta male, bala sharks, corys, neon tetras, japanase algae eater (he is huge), pleco, buenes aries tetra, Punctatus Cory and some others. My plecostomus is about 10 inches long and people always ask what the big dead thing is. I have had this fish since 97. I always like to have one male betta in the tank. They are beautiful and have personality.
My previous collections have included a mudskipper (I love THESE! Very cool) , Rope Fish (Pretty Freaky), Dog Face Puffer (Very Cute), mollies ( livebearers seem to die quickly), guppies (easy to bred, multiplies fast), Rubber Eel ( looks like a snake), Tiretrack Eel (Started thriving in my tank and eating small fish), Pangasius catfish (spazoid, like to hide a lot, trip out if disturbed), Clown Loach (very pretty and colorful, I had one pair for years and they got pretty big) crabs, firebelly newts, toads and more.
